Our Founder
Diarmuid is a consultant physiotherapist and independent prescriber who specialises in complex and persistent/chronic pain. Currently undertaking a part-time PhD, his research employs participatory methodology to explore experiences of living with pain outside healthcare, using liminality as a lens.
Diarmuid has represented physiotherapy and pain care in many committees including past chair of the Physiotherapy Pain Association, and committee member for the NICE chronic pain guidelines [NG193].

Diarmuid is passionate about advocacy and the involvement those affected by chronic pain in service development and research. He is part of many collaborations with people with lived experience including the Footsteps Festival, Live Well with Pain, and the Global Alliance of Partners for Pain advocacy.
Diarmuid is interested in improving health professionals communication skills, to better support patients living with pain and teaches in this area. He is an accredited trainer in Conversations Inviting Change (narrative medicine), an EMCC accredited coach, a certified forest bathing instructor, and a certified mindfulness teacher.
